Only the Coalition will Build the East West Link

The East West Link will be a crucial piece of infrastructure for Deakin residents.

The East West Link will ease traffic congestion on the Eastern Freeway and bottlenecks at Hoddle Street and Alexandra Parade, reducing the time that people waste stuck in traffic.

Families will have more time to spend together and business productivity will be boosted.

The East West Link will also create 6,700 jobs during the construction phase.

For these reasons, the Federal Coalition Government has committed $3 billion in funding towards Stages 1 and Stages 2 of the East West Link.

The East West Link will be a 21st century road.

But the State Labor Opposition has vowed to tear up the contracts for the East West Link if elected to government, in a bid to appease a handful of inner-city Greens voters.

If this happens, hundreds of millions of dollars of taxpayers’ money will be wasted on compensation claims and Victoria will lose $3 billion in federal funding.

Labor’s recklessness demonstrates an utter disregard for people living and working in the eastern suburbs of Deakin.

It is clear that only the Coalition will deliver the East West Link, and Michael Sukkar will continue his fight for the delivery of this project for the people of Deakin.
