Coalition Contributes $500,000 to East Ringwood Football Club
Michael Sukkar, Liberal Candidate for Deakin, today announced a Coalition Government would provide $500,000 in funding to assist East Ringwood Football Club with a much-needed upgrade of their facilities at East Ringwood Reserve.
“I am very pleased to announce that, if elected, the Coalition will contribute $500,000 towards East Ringwood Football Club’s plans for a new pavilion and change rooms,” Mr Sukkar said.
“Anyone in the community who, like me, has been down to support the Roos on a Saturday knows that the existing club rooms are in dire need of an upgrade.
“As a former junior player with East Ringwood Football Club, I was shocked to see that the club rooms had barely changed since my days there in the 1990s.
“President Geoff Buzaglo and I first met last year to discuss his plans for a redevelopment. He, along with Maroondah Mayor Nora Lamont and Councillor Ann Fraser, has been a tireless advocate for this project.
“The facilities at East Ringwood Reserve are no longer suitable for a club the size of East Ringwood Football Club and I have been fighting for the Federal Coalition to give the community a helping hand with this important project.
“The Coalition’s contribution today to a future redevelopment will ensure the continued strength of not only the East Ringwood Football Club, but all of the local sporting clubs and community groups that use East Ringwood Reserve.”
