Aurora School Kindergarten Officially Opened

Students and staff at Aurora School in Blackburn South today celebrated the opening of the Aurora School Community Kindergarten and Community Room.

Aurora School’s new early learning centre was built with the help of a $2 million Australian Government grant.

Mr Michael Sukkar MP, Member for Deakin, opened the new facilities on behalf of the Parliamentary Secretary to the Minister for Education, Senator the Hon Scott Ryan.

“This new kindergarten will help the Aurora School support the development of young hearing-impaired children from all over Melbourne,” Mr Sukkar said.

“Aurora School has shown exactly what can be achieved by a school with strong leadership and a clear vision for the future.”

Senator Ryan said the new facilities are an important part of ensuring all students get a great education.

“The construction of Aurora School’s new kindergarten and community room shows the Australian Government is committed to providing all students with school facilities that help them learn the skills needed to face an increasingly challenging world,” Senator Ryan said.
