Croydon Tennis Club Upgrade

  • $130,000 in funding for upgrades to Croydon Tennis Club.
  • The funding will provide upgrades across four courts by replacing existing lighting with an LED light system.

Federal Member for Deakin, Michael Sukkar MP, has announced today that a re-elected Coalition Government will provide $130,000 of funding to upgrade the facilities at Croydon Tennis Club.

Mr Sukkar said the funding would allow for the upgrade of four courts and for the existing lighting to be replaced with LED lights.

Mr Sukkar congratulated the Croydon Tennis Club for their continued advocacy for improving the grounds in Croydon.

“Grassroots sports help drive increased participation and promote social, health and community benefits” Mr Sukkar said.

“The installation of new lighting will mean that the Croydon Tennis club will be able to open longer into the night, increasing the number of hours they can be open for and the availability of court space.  Importantly, the new LED system will reduce ongoing costs for both maintenance and energy bills, providing a cost saving for the club and its members.”
