Upgrade for Croydon Bowls

Michael Sukkar, Federal Member for Deakin, visited Croydon Bowling Club this morning to announce a $150,000 upgrade to the Club, jointly funded by the Federal Government and Maroondah City Council.

Mr Sukkar said the upgrade will include the construction of a new outdoor social area and improved disability access.

“Local bowls clubs play an important part in keeping our community active and healthy,” Mr Sukkar said.

“Croydon Bowls is a fantastic club full of great people, a competitive spirit and all round good social atmosphere.

Ray Purdey, President of Croydon Bowling Club, said the club is looking forward to the much sort after upgrade and is thankful to Michael and the Council for making it happen.
