Vermont Reserve Club Rooms Refurbishment

  • $250,000 in funding for an upgrade to the Vermont Reserve club rooms.
  • The reserve club is home to the Vermont Football Club, Vermont Junior Football Club, Vermont Cricket Club, and Vermont Junior Cricket Club.

Federal Member for Deakin, Michael Sukkar, has announced today that a re-elected Coalition Government will provide $250,000 of funding to upgrade the Vermont Reserve club rooms.

Mr Sukkar said the funding would provide for a new air-conditioning system, refurbishment of the toilets and change rooms, upgrade of the kitchen & bar and installation of a new audio system.

Mr Sukkar thanked the club committees, coaches and other volunteers for their tireless work in providing opportunities for young people to play competitive sport in our local area.

“The upgraded facilities will have much-needed change rooms to accommodate the growing girls competition, and improving the kitchen facilities will allow the clubs to host more social events to cater for its growing membership base”.

The Chairman of the Vermont Sports Club, Don Parsons, said the improvements to the facilities would benefit many people within the community and greatly improve the football and cricket clubs.

“These upgrades will improve player and spectator comfort during games and ensure the broader community can benefit from these great sporting clubs”, Mr Parsons said.
