LABOR’S 1.2 MILLION HOMES PROMISE OFFICIALLY DEAD

The Albanese Labor Government’s fake promise to build 1.2 million homes over five years is officially dead.

New data from the Australian Bureau of Statistics has highlighted the weakest quarter of construction in more than a decade, with a meagre 23,058 dwellings having commenced in the September 2023 quarter.

The data also showed a significant 17 per cent drop in detached houses that commenced construction in the twelve months to September 2023 (103,707), compared to the previous year (124,940).

After 20 months in government, Labor has failed to support the residential construction industry or implement any housing policy for first home buyers.

In that time, Labor has also created Australia’s housing crisis by implementing record migration, by inviting 1.5 million more migrants by 2027.

Providing opportunities for first home buyers seeking to enter the housing market has never been and will never be a priority for Labor.

Australians know Labor’s 1.2 million homes commitment was a headline-grabbing political stunt, which means Australia’s housing crisis will be even worse in 2024.
